Meetings and Events

WE HAVE BIG NEWS…..
The Somervell County Citizens Center is opening May 3rd, 2021. This means the Glen Rose Dino-Bee Beekeeping Club can resume regular pre-Covid, in-person meetings. Our regular May meeting will be held at The Center on May 11 (second Tuesday) at 6:30pm. The address is 209 W. Barnard Street in Glen Rose – just off the square. As always anyone interested in honey bees and beekeeping is welcome to attend. No need to be an “official” club member. There will be some new requirements for all get-togethers at The Center.   So, we can expect some changes in the way we hold our club meetings.  We will let everyone know these new requirements via our email list and Facebook page. To get on the Dino-Bee email list, send us a message using the ‘Contact’ page on this Website.

Monthly Meetings
Club meetings are held at 6:30pm on the second Tuesday of every month except December. We meet at the Somervell County Citizens Center at 209 SW Barnard Street in Glen Rose Texas. Everyone is welcome. You don’t have to be a club member to attend. Meetings last about two hours. Each meeting covers a topical beekeeping subject; a discussion about local apiary conditions; and a raffle for beekeeping gear. The meeting is always attended by very experienced area beekeepers who can answer your questions.

Field Days
Several times during the year, club members meet at a bee yard for some hands on beekeeping. Field Day topics could include: “How to Do a Hive Inspection”; “Treating Your Bees for Pests”; “Hiving Feral Bees”; and more.

Annual Honey Tasting Event
Each year the regular October meeting is dedicated to the Dino-Bee Club’s annual Honey Tasting. You don’t want to miss this event. Members bring their honey for all to taste. You will be amazed at the variety of colors, textures, and tastes you will experience.
