  2. Honey Harvest

Well, the two hives we got in April have produced 9 lbs. of honey so far, and I have two more supers ready to harvest. We have been blessed with a huge bloom of wildflowers and mesquite this year thanks to all the timely rainfall. The nectar flow is mostly Star Thistle and has made a really light mild tasting honey. Thanks again to Dwain for showing me how to harvest the frames with his equipment and help.
I attached a few pictures Debbie took during the process.

  4. Bee Festooning

The last few days my bees have been festooning on both of my hives. I know it has been warm lately, but the hives have partial shade and there is always a breeze. I am thinking about ventilating the hives, but wanted so other thoughts.
